February 11th is the Jicarilla Apache Nation's self-proclaimed holiday, celebrating the inauguration of the Jicarilla Apache Nation's continued existence, as well as the establishment of sovereignty, self government and foundation of the Jicariila Apache Reservation. Little Beaver Round-Up

Little Beaver Round-Up
A celebration that has to be experienced to be believed, happening every third weekend of July. The Little Beaver Celebration begins with a parade and features a Pony Express Race, Pow Wow, Archery Shoot, Carnival, Softball Tournament, Live Entertainment and More throughout the weekend. Go-Jii-Ya

Go-Jii-Ya
Located at Stone Lake, Go-Jii-Ya is an annual harvest celebration taking place every September 15 that pits the two clans – the Llanero (Red Clan) and the Ollero (White Clan) of the Jicarillas together in a foot race. After the foot race has determined a winner, the festivities continue with a local rodeo, pow wow and vendors selling foods and crafts. No photography permitted.

Fishing on the Jicarilla Apache Nation lakes continues to be top notch. The Game and Fish Department produces large trout, bass, and catfish that ensure great fishing! Fishing licenses can be purchased at the Wild Horse Casino & Hotel front desk, the Game and Fish office.
